Reed House

Reed House is one of Melbourne's most celebrated recent openings, a contemporary Australian restaurant with a distinct British accent, housed in the bluestone Manse Building dating back to 1859. The venue is the brainchild of chef Mark Hannell and front-of-house partner Rebecca Baker, who met while working at Ottolenghi's Nopi in London. The menu is playful yet confident, with signatures like ramen Scotch eggs, Welsh rarebit crumpets and roast chicken with bread sauce sitting alongside hand-rolled pasta and market-driven vegetables. Two fireplaces, arched church windows and a private dining room upstairs make it one of the most charming rooms in the CBD.
